Our Weekend at the Avery Family Farm

Ben, Jeffrey and I all drove down to Hartford to visit the Avery Family Farm over the weekend. Jeffrey had so much fun all weekend long. He learned all about farm animals and even had the chance to meet a few in person. We spent Saturday playing with chickens, ducks, horses and goats. We never made it out to see the cows, we'll have to visit with them on our next trip. Grandma enjoyed spoiling her youngest grandbaby. She even spoiled Ben and I a bit by allowing us to sleep late while she took care of Jeffrey, for which we are ever so grateful!! Jeffrey loved playing with his Uncle George, Uncle Ken, Uncle Frank and big cousin James. All in all we had a nice and relaxing weekend on the farm. It was so hard to say goodbye, but we look forward to visiting again soon. I'm afraid we'll be chasing Jeffrey around the pastures during our next visit!

We all had a great time visiting with Grandma and the rest of the family.

Ahhh...naptime with Grandma. It doesn't get much better than this. (I love the expression on his face)

Jeffrey had so much fun feeding the goats.

Yummm..corn leaves. :)

Update

We have good news! Dr. Levin said that he was very pleased with Jeffrey's progress on the nebulizer. He instructed us to wean him off by doing treatments twice a day for three days then once a day for three days. After that we should be able to discontinue treatments, unless he has another episode then we'll just treat him on an as-needed basis. We are so blessed that this has been our biggest hurdle.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all of the Daddy's out there! I hope it was a wonderful day for all of you. Ben had a nice first Father's Day. Unfortunately he did have to work, but he got off early to spend time as a family. Jeffrey and I went to church and then we met Ben and the rest of the family at my parents' house for lunch. We all enjoyed spending time together and all of the Dad's received lots of goodies.

I haven't posted in a while so a few of you may not know that we have been administering nebulizer breathing treatments to Jeffrey for the past week. The little guy just has a cough that he hasn't been able to kick. Last Monday his pediatrician decided to try the nebulizer for a week. So we've been doing it three times a day, as long as we do it while he's sleeping it's easy. However, if he's awake it's like wrestle mania! I am taking him back to the doctor's office today for his follow-up visit. He has improved a good bit so I'm hoping that he will either lower the number of treatments or tell us that he no longer needs it. I'll try to post an update tomorrow.

Have a great week!

Getting Ready for School

Here's a picture of Jeffrey from this morning. He enjoys playing in his little activity chair thingy in the mornings after he's had breakfast and gotten dressed for "school." This is how he spends his time while I get ready for work. :) If you look closely at this picture you can see one of his two teeth.
