Wordless Wednesday..or the Cici and Pawpaw Post.

We are a family-divided.

Jeffrey LOVED helping PawPaw drive the John Deere!

Against Pawpaw's better judgement, he allowed Jeffrey to wear the Auburn football helmet.

Their hero. These babies LOVE their Pawpaw!!

Not Me Monday!

One of my favorite blogs to read is that of MckMama's. If you haven't clicked the link on my sidebar and visited her blog, I encourage you to do so. She and her family are following our Lord through an extremely rough storm right now as they are coping with the illness of their unborn baby boy, Stellan. Through all of the turmoil, MckMama is able to cling to our Father and still find the joys in life. That is where Not Me Monday comes in. She started Not Me Mondays a while back to be brutally honest about the way we live our lives, and those posts have been hysterical! She's now turned Not Me Monday into a blog carnival and invited her readers to do their own brutally honest post. So here's my first installment of Not Me Monday!

While getting Jeffrey ready for daycare this morning he crawled into his closet and pulled out a pair of his baby shoes, that he never wore of course. When it came time to sit him in his high chair and give him his breakfast he pitched a fit when I attempted to take the shoes away from him. I did not allow Jeffrey to play with/chew on the shoes while eating his breakfast just to keep him happy!! No way!! Not me!!

During lunch yesterday Jeffrey didn't want to eat his green beans and ham. His Daddy was having a piece of cake for dessert and gave Jeffrey a bite. I promise I did not put a piece of the cake in the middle of the green beans and ham and convince him to eat his lunch. No way!! Not me!!

I'm sure I have many more No way!! Not me!! happenings, but I'm running low on time. If you're interested in participating in Not Me Mondays just visit MckMama's blog to get all of the details.

Calling China

So we're lying in bed Wednesday morning sound asleep and I wake to a bit of rumbling coming from the monitor. It's Jeffrey tossing and turning, no big deal, I'll just drift back to sleep. Then I swear I hear a slight beeping sound. I sit up, listen closely, but don't hear it again. I'm hearing things. I starting drifting again. Beep....beep..What in the world???? I lie there..I hear a strange female voice in the distance ALL coming from the baby monitor!! I'm thinking maybe the monitor is picking up some other radio signal. Then I hear BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP..that horrible sound the phone makes when it has been left off of the hook for a long period of time. Ben shoots up out of his slumber yelling, "What's that noise??" I hear Jeffrey giggling at his new-found play toy and I start laughing hysterically. No, I swear I didn't leave the cordless phone in the bed with my child before I went to sleep the night before! Ben was not a happy camper, to say the least, but Jeffrey and I thought it was pretty funny. Well, he thought it was funny until his mean ol' Daddy took the phone away.

Note to self...don't leave the phone in the crib. I'm not looking forward to seeing the phone bill. We'll probably have a charge for a call to China.

I wish I had pictures or better yet, a video, of all of this. However, it was like 3 a.m. so digitally recording this precious memory was the last thing on my groggy mind.

A Wonderful Vacation!

We are back to the real world after a wonderful week-long vacation to the farm and the beach. We drove down to the farm on Friday night and spent time with the Averys and then we drove over to Gulf Shores Saturday afternoon. A BIG THANK YOU to the Zaden's for allowing us to stay in their condo for the week. There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are. We spent our days playing on the beach, taking naps, eating way too much and taking more naps. We were completely worthless by the end of the week! Jeffrey had so much fun and he even made a new friend named Hudson, a 7-month old baby who's family set up their beach spot next to us. We took so many pictures, way too many to post so I just made another handy-dandy collage.

We ended our long week with a trip to the Birmingham Zoo on Sunday. Jeffrey had so much fun visitin with all of the animals and riding the carousal.

March of Dimes Blue Jeans for Babies

As you probably know all to well, Ben and I do all we can to support the March of Dimes. I'm currently serving on the MOD's Blue Jeans for Babies committee and have committed to do all I can to gather support and/or sponsors for the event.

That's where my dear blog readers come into play. Do you work for an organization that would be willing to sponsor the event? If so, great! If not, that's okay, because I have option #2! Would your organization be willing to allow you and your co-workers to wear a March of Dimes t-shirt and blue jeans on Friday, November 14th and will your co-workers spend $15 for a t-shirt (proceeds going to MOD, of course)? If so, PLEASE leave me a comment with your email address and I will send all of the appropriate info your way. The deadline for t-shirt orders is October 13th.

This is just another way for all of us to work together and save babies one step at a time! Please keep in mind that 1 in 8 babies are born too soon. Prematurity is a horrible reality in today's world and I want to do all I can to prevent at least one family from experiencing the pain of losing a baby to premature birth.

Thank you so much for supporting the March of Dimes and so many families like our own.

Here are pictures of the super cute t-shirts for the 2008 Blue Jeans for Babies.

Game Day with the Hills

Ben, Jeffrey and I went to the Hill's house to watch some football this past Saturday. As you can see Avery and her family are Alabama fans, but we still had a blast. Jeffrey and Avery had so much fun playing together. I tried to get a picture of the two of them together, but the best I could do was of the two of them with their backs to me.

Jeffrey and Avery wanted to go outside and help their Daddies grill the hotdogs.

Picture Time

So there were way too many pictures to post from the past few weeks so I just did a collage. Enjoy!

Oh, and Jeffrey is doing MUCH better! He's back to his normal self. He and his Daddy are even planning to come by my office this afternoon for a big party that the Association is hosting for its members.

Happy 10 Month Day Jeffrey!!

Jeffrey is 10 months old today!! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. It feels like just yesterday when we were bringing him home from the hospital. Unfortunately the little guy is still a bit under the weather today. He's spending the day with his Cici so that his Daddy and I can be at work. I am glad to report that the fever is gone and we're just dealing with some nasty diapers. If I could just get him to like Pedialyte he'd be doing great. However, if it isn't formula coming out of a bottle he wants nothing to do with it! We've been force-feeding the Pedialyte with a medicine dropper and I've tried a home remedy that was shared with me by one of my coworkers, beef broth mixed with a bit of apple juice. He'll at least drink a little of that at a time. Anyway, please continue to keep the little guy in your prayers. It hurts us so much to see him not feeling well.

I promise to post pictures this afternoon!!

Sick Day

Well I was hoping that Jeffrey's tummy would feel better this morning, but it only got worse through the night. The poor little guy has a stomach virus and his fever peaked at 104.5 last night. Ben and I were both worried sick about him so we put him in our bed. You know he feels bad when he's whimpering in his sleep. Thankfully his temperature had dropped by this morning and he only had one bad diaper. I'm hoping it was just a 24-hour bug and we'll be back to life as normal tomorrow. For now, please say an extra prayer for Jeffrey. We want him to feel better fast!

Happy Labor Day and War Eagle!

War Eagle!! We had a fun Auburn football kickoff/Labor Day weekend! We had a great time Saturday spending the afternoon with the Hill Family. We watched the Bama game with them and settled for keeping up with the AU game over the radio. We'll forgive them for being Bama fans! Jeffrey and Avery were so cute dressed in their respective school colors and they played way past their bed times.

Sunday afternoon Tiffany, Mike, Temple and Matt all visited our house for a pre-Labor Day cookout. Jeffrey was completely spoiled by his Aunt T's and Uncle M's. We all had a great time catching up and eating some yummy food! Thanks again Matt and Temple!!

Ben had to work over Labor Day, yes it does defeat the purpose of "Labor" Day, but Jeffrey and I enjoyed our day together. We spent most of our day being lazy, which we don't get to do very often. The poor little guy has had a bit of an upset tummy all day. We're hoping that he'll be much better by morning.

I'll upload a few cute pictures from the weekend tomorrow.
