Go Olivia's Butterflies!!

What a weekend!! We had a great Saturday at the March of Dimes March for Babies! Our team, Olivia's Butterflies, raised almost $4,000 for MOD!! Thanks to everyone who made a donation! We had a great time as we walked 4.2 miles through downtown Birmingham. Thanks to all of our friends and family who walked with us. A BIG thanks goes to Julie Harbin for being our MVP! She raised more than $1,500 and then finished the walk with some really bad blisters on her feet, but never gave up!! We love you all!

Whew! That was a long walk! I'm pooped. ;)

Me, Jeffrey (he's there you just can't see him), Kim and Avery, one of Jeffrey's many girlfriends.

Our sweet friends Margie and Julie! They are AWESOME!

Jeffrey's Baptism

Jeffrey was baptized on Sunday, April 20th at our church, Oakmont UMC. It was a great service with our two favorite ministers, Revs. Lynn Dimon and Alex Oberneder, baptizing our sweet boy. After the baptism we enjoyed a luncheon at Cici & Pawpaw's house with family and friends.

It's Not Too Late..

Hi Everyone,
As you may or may not know I am participating in the March of Dimes’ March for Babies this coming Saturday. We are only 3 days away from the big event and it’s not too late to show your support for this wonderful organization. We all have busy lives and I know it’s hard to remember to do these things so I urge you to visit this link www.marchforbabies.org/ldavery and make your donation while it’s fresh on your mind. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated!

As many of you are aware, on May 29, 2006 our daughter, Olivia Nichole, was born 17 weeks too early (40 weeks is a full-term pregnancy). She weighed only 1 lb. 8 oz. and was 12” long. Our sweet angel was with us for seven amazing days and because of her our lives have been forever changed. I’m so grateful to the March of Dimes for their extensive research and support for babies born prematurely and for moms at risk of delivering early. They helped us through the short life that Olivia lived and they were there for us when I was pregnant with her baby brother, Jeffrey. Thanks to their research we knew what measures needed to be taken in order for me to deliver a healthy baby. Nearly 13 percent of babies born today are premature. That means one out of 20 families will be affected by a premature birth. So many of these families are just like mine, we did everything right and still our dreams and hopes were shattered. For obvious reasons, I am a big supporter of the March of Dimes and I am asking for your support as well. Please help me help these babies. My prayer is that with each step we will see a day when all babies are born healthy.

Thank you for your support,
Lurenda Avery

Bouncy Seats are Great for Nap Time!

So Daddy surpised Jeffrey with a new bouncy seat this week and he LOVES it. We can sit him in it and he will bounce and bounce and bounce until he can't bounce anymore. Yesterday Ben put Jeffrey in the bouncer and walked into the kitchen to clean up and then noticed it was suddenly very quiet in the other room. When he walked in he found this.....

Poor little guy just bounced himself to sleep. He said that he stayed like this for about 20 minutes. He tried to move him and he started fussing so Ben just let him sleep "standing up!" So to all you Mommies and Daddies out there, if you don't have the Fisher Price Rain Forest bouncer you must get one! They are the greatest!

Jeffrey and Molly Vann had a playdate Sunday afternoon. It was great to hang out with Shannon, Daniel and Molly. We enjoyed a walk around the block and the babies had a "dinner date," they both enjoyed their baby food. Here are a few pictures from the afternoon.

Jeffrey and Molly sitting in a tree... :)

You gotta love those babies. Notice the not-so-happy Miss Marvel in the background.

Jeffrey's Meme & Papa visited last night. Meme fed Jeffrey his dinner, yummy carrots. He's trying to master the art of eating baby food, but it's definitely a work in progress!

Mmmm..carrots!

We spent most of our weekend playing in the condo.

I'm ready for the beach!

Aunt Jenn is mimicking Jeffrey's "kissy face!"

What a pretty picture!
