After a long, hard day at work yesterday I arrived home to find a box sitting on our doorstep addressed to Ben. I took it in the house and left it for him to open when he arrived home from work. While waiting on Ben to show up Jeffrey and I spent our evening doing our normal things: playing, eating, taking a bath, reading a story and getting ready for bed. Ben arrived home shortly after I had put Jeffrey to bed. I was cleaning up the house when he noticed the box sitting on the island and asked what it was. I told him I wasn't sure, but that it was addressed to him. I went about my business vacuuming the floor.
Ben sat on the couch and opened the box. I looked at him and his eyes were full of tears, I feared something was horribly wrong. I quickly turned off the vacuum and ran to see what was wrong. It turns out it was nothing bad at all. He pulled out a book entitled "I Wish My Brother George was Here" written by, you guessed it, Ben's brother George. As we turned the page we saw the dedication that read
For Olivia. Seeing this brought us both to tears. This is one of the nicest gestures that anyone has ever done for our family and it means more than we could ever express.
The book is a beautiful
collaboration of short bedtime stories and
prose. George is one of the most talented and unique authors I have ever encountered and I'm convinced that he will one day be famous for his wonderful works.

prose are great for young children. Some are silly, some are spooky, but they are all sure to get the imagination going!
To George - Thank you for being such a wonderful big brother to Ben. Thank you for seeing me as a sister and not just an in-law. Thank you for loving Olivia and Jeffrey as much as you do. I love the smile on Jeffrey's face when he sees you coming his way! We look forward to the days when Jeffrey can visit the farm for a week or two at a time and help his Uncle George take care of all the animals. You are an amazing man and we are all blessed to call you Brother and Uncle. We love you.
