Beach Trip

We've just returned from a great beach trip. We went to Sandestin for the Home Builders Associaiton's Summer Board meeting. Jeffrey had a blast! He loved everything about it..the water, the sand, the beach naps. All in all it was a great week I just wish it could have lasted longer!

Jeffrey loved playing in the pool with his Daddy.

Playdate with Molly and Isaac

The Vanns, Sawyers and Averys FINALLY got together for a fun impromtu playdate on Sunday. Molly, Isaac and Jeffrey had so much fun playing together and we had a great time watching them. Thanks to the Shannon and Daniel for having all of us over for the afternoon! We are all so blessed to have three little ones that will all grow up together.

Molly just woke up from her nap, but Jeffrery is super excited!

After attempt #2 we gave up!

The Best Brother Anyone Could Ask For

After a long, hard day at work yesterday I arrived home to find a box sitting on our doorstep addressed to Ben. I took it in the house and left it for him to open when he arrived home from work. While waiting on Ben to show up Jeffrey and I spent our evening doing our normal things: playing, eating, taking a bath, reading a story and getting ready for bed. Ben arrived home shortly after I had put Jeffrey to bed. I was cleaning up the house when he noticed the box sitting on the island and asked what it was. I told him I wasn't sure, but that it was addressed to him. I went about my business vacuuming the floor.

Ben sat on the couch and opened the box. I looked at him and his eyes were full of tears, I feared something was horribly wrong. I quickly turned off the vacuum and ran to see what was wrong. It turns out it was nothing bad at all. He pulled out a book entitled "I Wish My Brother George was Here" written by, you guessed it, Ben's brother George. As we turned the page we saw the dedication that read For Olivia. Seeing this brought us both to tears. This is one of the nicest gestures that anyone has ever done for our family and it means more than we could ever express.

The book is a beautiful collaboration of short bedtime stories and prose. George is one of the most talented and unique authors I have ever encountered and I'm convinced that he will one day be famous for his wonderful works.

If you are interested in seeing the book or even purchasing it you can visit the following link http://www.lulu.com/content/2552244. His short bedtime stories and prose are great for young children. Some are silly, some are spooky, but they are all sure to get the imagination going!

To George - Thank you for being such a wonderful big brother to Ben. Thank you for seeing me as a sister and not just an in-law. Thank you for loving Olivia and Jeffrey as much as you do. I love the smile on Jeffrey's face when he sees you coming his way! We look forward to the days when Jeffrey can visit the farm for a week or two at a time and help his Uncle George take care of all the animals. You are an amazing man and we are all blessed to call you Brother and Uncle. We love you.

A Messy Jeffrey Smiles for the Camera

I thought these pictures were too funny. This was the first time that he intentionally smiled at the camera. I think he just likes the camera because it's shiny..I have no idea who he gets THAT from!! Oh look there's something shiny..I gotta go. :)

Our Weekend at the Avery Family Farm

Ben, Jeffrey and I all drove down to Hartford to visit the Avery Family Farm over the weekend. Jeffrey had so much fun all weekend long. He learned all about farm animals and even had the chance to meet a few in person. We spent Saturday playing with chickens, ducks, horses and goats. We never made it out to see the cows, we'll have to visit with them on our next trip. Grandma enjoyed spoiling her youngest grandbaby. She even spoiled Ben and I a bit by allowing us to sleep late while she took care of Jeffrey, for which we are ever so grateful!! Jeffrey loved playing with his Uncle George, Uncle Ken, Uncle Frank and big cousin James. All in all we had a nice and relaxing weekend on the farm. It was so hard to say goodbye, but we look forward to visiting again soon. I'm afraid we'll be chasing Jeffrey around the pastures during our next visit!

We all had a great time visiting with Grandma and the rest of the family.

Ahhh...naptime with Grandma. It doesn't get much better than this. (I love the expression on his face)

Jeffrey had so much fun feeding the goats.

Yummm..corn leaves. :)
