Check Back Soon..

For Jeffrey's 9 month pictures. We had a photo session with Richard Melanson, a fantastic photographer who's also a family friend. I'll have the pictures tonight and I'll load them as soon as I have a chance. I'm super excited and I can't wait to share them with all of our readers!

All Well and Eating Finger Foods

I'm so sorry for the lack in posts lately! We've been battling a couple of viruses at our house. A few weeks ago Jeffrey ended up with the hand, foot and mouth virus, but luckily we only had to deal with that for a little less than a week. I think it scared me more than anything! Then last week the little guy had the fever virus. He had a fever between 101 and 102 for three days. So we just gave him Tylenol until he was finally better. We're doing much better this week. He has a bit of a runny nose, but that's pretty normal for him. I'm hoping he's gotten all of this sickness out of his system for awhile.

In other news, this is Jeffrey's last week in the baby class at daycare. He'll be moving up next week. I'm okay with it, but I am a bit sad to know that he's growing so fast. He had his 9 month check-up last week and he now weighs 21 lbs and I think he was 29 inches long, but I'm not positive about that one. The doctor was very happy with his development and we'll go back at his one-year visit. We are also trying our best to transition to a sippy cup, however Jeffrey thinks that the cup is much more fun as a toy than a device from which he should drink! I've bought three different styles and so far they've all been seen as toys. I've found a few helpful tips online, but if any of my Mommy friends out there have any ideas on this subject PLEASE share them with us! He's also gone to eating only finger foods. He wants NOTHING to do with baby food, however he still loves yogurt. His favorite foods these days are green beans, potatoes, turkey lunch meat, carrots, cheese toast, waffles and of course Cheerios!

So there's our update for a while. We hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Jeffrey loves bathtime in the big boy tub!

Just hanging out in the morning before "school".

Peek-a-boo! This is a rare shot of a happy baby in the pack 'n play. He normally screams the second I sit him in there.

Fan Day at Auburn

We had such an awesome weekend! We spent Friday night with Tiffany and Micah and Jeffrey had so much fun crawling all around their house. He especially loved torturing one of their cats Simon. On Saturday morning we did a bit of shopping and then headed to Auburn for Fan Day. It was great to be back in Auburn. It's been a couple of years since we've been down and I was blown away by all of the changes! Walking around Auburn with a baby was a bit surreal. It was Jeffrey's first visit and he's already bleeding orange and blue! Here are a few pictures from our day on The Plains. Most of these were taken while we were waiting to meet Coach Tubberville on the coliseum floor. I will post our pictures with Coach and Aubie once I've downloaded them from the Auburn fan site. Thanks Aunt T for taking such AUsome pictures!! :)

It doesn't get much better than this.

Happy Baby!

Beach Trip

We've just returned from a great beach trip. We went to Sandestin for the Home Builders Associaiton's Summer Board meeting. Jeffrey had a blast! He loved everything about it..the water, the sand, the beach naps. All in all it was a great week I just wish it could have lasted longer!

Jeffrey loved playing in the pool with his Daddy.

Playdate with Molly and Isaac

The Vanns, Sawyers and Averys FINALLY got together for a fun impromtu playdate on Sunday. Molly, Isaac and Jeffrey had so much fun playing together and we had a great time watching them. Thanks to the Shannon and Daniel for having all of us over for the afternoon! We are all so blessed to have three little ones that will all grow up together.

The Best Brother Anyone Could Ask For

After a long, hard day at work yesterday I arrived home to find a box sitting on our doorstep addressed to Ben. I took it in the house and left it for him to open when he arrived home from work. While waiting on Ben to show up Jeffrey and I spent our evening doing our normal things: playing, eating, taking a bath, reading a story and getting ready for bed. Ben arrived home shortly after I had put Jeffrey to bed. I was cleaning up the house when he noticed the box sitting on the island and asked what it was. I told him I wasn't sure, but that it was addressed to him. I went about my business vacuuming the floor.

Ben sat on the couch and opened the box. I looked at him and his eyes were full of tears, I feared something was horribly wrong. I quickly turned off the vacuum and ran to see what was wrong. It turns out it was nothing bad at all. He pulled out a book entitled "I Wish My Brother George was Here" written by, you guessed it, Ben's brother George. As we turned the page we saw the dedication that read For Olivia. Seeing this brought us both to tears. This is one of the nicest gestures that anyone has ever done for our family and it means more than we could ever express.

The book is a beautiful collaboration of short bedtime stories and prose. George is one of the most talented and unique authors I have ever encountered and I'm convinced that he will one day be famous for his wonderful works.

If you are interested in seeing the book or even purchasing it you can visit the following link http://www.lulu.com/content/2552244. His short bedtime stories and prose are great for young children. Some are silly, some are spooky, but they are all sure to get the imagination going!

To George - Thank you for being such a wonderful big brother to Ben. Thank you for seeing me as a sister and not just an in-law. Thank you for loving Olivia and Jeffrey as much as you do. I love the smile on Jeffrey's face when he sees you coming his way! We look forward to the days when Jeffrey can visit the farm for a week or two at a time and help his Uncle George take care of all the animals. You are an amazing man and we are all blessed to call you Brother and Uncle. We love you.

A Messy Jeffrey Smiles for the Camera

I thought these pictures were too funny. This was the first time that he intentionally smiled at the camera. I think he just likes the camera because it's shiny..I have no idea who he gets THAT from!! Oh look there's something shiny..I gotta go. :)
